Registration deadline is September 4, 2024 COURSE DESCRIPTION & OUTLINE This course will provide customer service representatives with training on best practices to process customer accounts and information consistent with federal and state laws. Review the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTAct) and other federal laws protecting customers Discuss policies and procedures on establishing a utility customer account, including acceptable and unacceptable forms of identification Reasoning behind variable amounts for customer deposits by class Summarize disconnection issues including the legal right to disconnect Explain the difference in customer and city liability when under and overbilling occur Review sample customer service policies, customer application forms, and other relevant documents.
